If Historic Houses, Muesems, or Parks and gardens are not for you there is still plenty to do in and around Basingstoke     Walks and Cycle routes.   Basingstoke has wonderful countryside that offers a variety of walks and cycle routes.  These range from a gentle stroll to an energetic hike.  The Willis Museum's bookshops have various books and maps that show different routes, as well as the local bookshops.

Basingstoke has a wide variety of sports and leisure facilities.  The 2 main facilities are located at the Leisure Park and the Town Centre. The town centre houses the main sports centre, where you can take part in many different sports including swimming, badminton, squash, fitness studio, and also many clubs and activities.    The leisure park houses many of the most popular activities in Basingstoke these include ten-pin bowling, swimming, ice-skating, bingo and the cinema.      There are also various community centres and local sports centres in the smaller communities in the Basingstoke area including Tadley, Overton and Whitchurch.  These provide facilities like football, swimming, badminton and squash.   

Basingstoke also has a number of different health clubs and gyms which offer various sports facilities.  There are also a number of sports clubs, these include Basingstoke Rugby Club, Basingstoke Fotball Club, Basingstoke Bison Ice Hockey and Basingstoke Cricket Club, as well as clubs in the smaller areas around Basingstoke.
