Using Our Website
We want as many people as possible to be able to get the most out of using our website. Reading the FAQ's may answer a lot of questions if not answered here. As content is often from third parties we cannot be held liable for any compatibility issue with a particular article.
Alternatively the help documentation for your particular device may be the best way to find out useful features it may have. They can usually do a lot more to help your web experience than is practical to mention here.
If you have any problems accessing our website with any device, or if you have suggestions to improve what we have done, do not hesitate to contact us about them. Comments about any things you like on this website are also welcome. It is very helpful for us to find out what we are doing right as well as wrong!
Assistive Technologies
We have tried to cater for screen readers, refreshable Braille displays, screen magnifiers and other systems with this website. The content of our pages do vary depending on the section being viewed.
To prevent interference with your device we do not use "access key" shortcuts.
Small Screen Devices
If you are using a mobile phone, a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), a games console or another device with a small screen, the layout we have used should adapt gracefully to your device.
On very small screens and old mobile phones, the pages should transform into a single column layout which will not require horizontal scrolling.
Desktop Browsers
Our website is best viewed using Firefox. However it has been tested using a number of different web browsers.

Other browsers may work with limited use including on Internet Explorer 6 (Windows). If you are using a browser which displays web pages visually, they will usually have various options for you to adapt the presentation of pages you visit. We have aimed to support as many of these features as possible.
The features available in visual browsers differ a great deal and some useful abilities are sometimes hidden away. Their help systems should tell you what they can do, or you can search online for tutorials.
Text Size
In most visual browsers, there will be a menu named View or Display which will have an item called Text Size or something similar. This item lets you increase or decrease the size of text on all the websites you visit. Some browsers let you use Ctrl+MouseWheel or Ctrl++ and Ctrl+- as well.
Line Length
Our website will adapt to fit the width of the browser you are using. You can change the size of your browser in many ways, such as clicking the Maximise or Restore buttons usually located at the very top of the window. Sometimes you can move your mouse to the edge of the window, hold down the left mouse button and then drag it to the new size.
Text Browsers
If you are browsing the web with images disabled, or using a device which does not support images, our website provides text for all images relevant to the content. Our website should use a logical one-column layout in these devices.
Printing
When you print pages from this website they should automatically transform into a printer friendly version. Most devices which can print web pages will offer a Print Preview option and we recommend you check this before you actually print. In the printed version, some parts are removed to save space.
Please remember that all content on this website is copyrighted, so you may only print a small number of pages for personal or educational use.
