Our March meeting proved to be a lip smacking evening as it was a Chocolate demonstration by Barbara who has her own business at Weyhill. She made it all look so easy as she melted and poured the chocolate into moulds. Not only did she produce animal shapes but also showed how to make praline filled sweets. Yes, there was time for tasters at the end of the evening.
Our next meeting is a little earlier on Monday 19th Mary because of the Spring Bank Holiday. We will not be in the main hall but in one of the side halls. W.I.s all over the country will be discussing and voting on two resolutions to take to their June AGM. The first is “bottom trawling” and I should add that this is nothing to do with the first paragraph of my notice. This relates to a method of towing fishing nets along the sea floor and the damage it is causing to marine life. The second item relates to the inappropriate imprisonment of severely mentally ill people.
At our May meeting we will also be welcoming PC Loraine Stockham to come along and meet us and answer any questions that members would like to ask pertaining to her job as a beat manager for Kempshott.
It is farewell to Tilly White who has died at the age of 90, another old Kempshott resident. Her and her husband had a game and fowl business in Kempshott for many years.
