Police appeal for witnesses after Basingstoke incident in February |

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a Police Community Support Officer was verbally abused outside the job centre on Friday, February 29.
Just after 6pm the 26-year-old PCSO was verbally abused by a group of men because of his nationality. The three men appeared to have been drinking and were waiting for a bus outside the job centre in Winchester Road. The first man is described as: White Approximately 40 years old 6ft tall Stocky build Round face Clean shaven Short, brown hair The second man is described as: White Approximately 40 years old 6ft 2ins tall Medium build Brown moustache Long face Clear complexion Brown, medium length hair Wearing a light brown coat which was just below waist length The third man is described as: White Approximately 40 years old PC Lee Stanbrook, of Basingstoke police station, said: “Officers are always working hard to promote community cohesion. “This is just the kind of incident that goes against all the hard work being done and will not be tolerated. “We would urge anyone with information or anyone who recognises the descriptions of the men to contact police as soon as possible.” Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Stanbrook at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
