After a successful Christmas concert season Basingstoke Male Voice Choir is now busy planning its Spring and Summer programme. As a result of our Christmas Concert over £600 was raised for the Basing Unit of the North Hampshire Hospital and singing in Festival Place with the Ladies' Choir and Salvation Army Band raised a further £100 to be shared between Naomi House Children's Hospice and St Michael's Hospice. Our grateful thanks to all who supported us over the Christmas period. The choir is delighted to be returning to The Anvil on Sunday April 20th for a concert to celebrate St George's Day in the traditional manner. This has been made possible this year by the sponsorship of the Champion Group of Companies, who have agreed to support this concert. The Choir will be joined by the Band of the Army Medical Corps (T.A.) and it is proposed that the Armed Services' Charity "Help for Heroes" will benefit from the profits of this concert - so put the date (Sunday 20th April) in your diary. Tickets will be available from the Anvil Box Office on 01256 844244. Saturday 26th April 2008 sees the Choir again take part in the annual Concert for Popley at St Bede's Church, Popley Way. This year they join with the Marnel Junior School Choir and the Beech Hill Band. This concert is organised by Revd Arthur Botham of St Gabriel's and tickets will be available from the church office on 01256 324734 or at the door. So, gentlemen, if you enjoy singing and are free on Monday evenings, please come along to a choir rehearsal at the United Reformed Church, London Street, at 7.30pm, where you will be sure of a warm welcome."
