Anne,

We see these Police Surgeries advertised by your posts on here, but what we never see is on here is just what comes out of them! Is it possible for you or the PCs / PCSOs to detail updates on here from those meetings, so residents know precisely what was brought up and any actions taken from them?

Thanks & regards,

Simon.

Surley these Police Surgeries are between the Police and the people who go to them. If the Police published everything they were going to do then criminals would know what was going on and then avoid arrest.
I would prefer the Police did their job and catch criminals and stop crimes and anti social behaviour. Rather than spend their time telling everyone what they were doing.
Do you go to these Police Surgeries Simon? If so then follow up and ask about the response to things at the next one. If you dont then why not? After all you are the one asking for the information, why not ask them yourself.

The Police Surgeries were set up to enable residents to report/discuss matters of concern with their local beat officer (and now the PCSO) in confidence. People quite often do not report things for fear of retribution and therefore feel uncomfortable having an officer calling on them.

It has therefore never been the intention of any of the parties involved in Police Surgery to publicly report what has been discussed.

Thanks for the responses. Whilst I haven't attended Police Surgery myself, my family have reported incidents to the Police though... given a Crime Reference Number and heard nothing about it again!

Yes... and that was precisely what the local Police did only a month or so ago with regard to publicising "Operation Summer" wasn't it!!!
