Is the one next year over the weekend of the 4th August? Am I right in thinking it is the first weekend in August each year?

I think that over the last few years it has been on the first weekend of August.
The dates are usually published in Jan and I will get back to you with the dates when I get them

Balloons Over Basingstoke will be held over the weekend of 3rd to 5th August 2007.

It promises to be an excellent event with lots going on. More information on the event will appear on this site as soon as possible.

Basingstoke-Now will be there and we hope to see many people from accross the area.
