Police appeal for witnesses after assault at Festival Place in March PDF Print E-mail

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was assaulted at a shop at Festival Place on Saturday, March 8.

 

 

At around 5pm the 16-year-old boy was queuing at Greggs when he was verbally abused by a man and then punched in the face.

 

 

The victim was taken to North Hampshire Hospital where he was treated for a facial injury.

 

 

The man is described as:

 

 

  • White

     

  • 5ft 7ins to 5ft 10ins

     

  • Large build

     

  • Aged around 30 years old

     

  • Shaven head

     

  • Wearing a dark green zip up top

     

PC Brent Williams, of Basingstoke police station, said: “This was an unusual and unprovoked attack that happened at a shopping centre where people would have been around.

 

 

“We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information about it to contact police as soon as possible.”
