Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a distraction burglary in Basingstoke on Thursday, March 13. When they were refused entry they forced their way in and threatened the 60-year-old victim before taking £60 in cash from her. One of the men is believed to be in his 20s, another in his 30s and the third in his 50s. All three were wearing dark clothing, hats and gloves. PC William Tweedie, of Basingstoke police station, said: “This is a serious incident where a vulnerable member of the community has been targeted. “Our enquiries are ongoing and we would urge anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident to contact police as soon as possible.” Anyone with information about the incident should contact PC Tweedie at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
