Witnesses sought following burglary in Whitchurch
Officers in Whitchurch are appealing for information following a burglary on Friday, August 31.

At around 6pm an elderly couple, aged 85, were home at an address on Micheldever Road, Whitchurch when they found a man climbing through their bathroom window.  The couple shouted at the offender and he ran off with a second man.

Officers have descriptions of the men they would like to speak to.

The first man is described as:

    • White
    • Aged 18 to 20
    • Stocky build
    • Short ginger hair

The second man is described as:

    • White
    • Aged 20 to 30
    • Slim build
    • Mousey coloured hair

PC Matthew Deery said: “Fortunately the couple disturbed the offenders before they had the chance to take anything from the property.

“I would ask members of the public to always be vigilant and to make sure all windows, particularly ground floor windows, are closed and locked when rooms are unattended.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen these men in the area at the time of the incident to come forward.”

Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact PC Deery at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
