Police in Basingstoke have released an e-fit of one of the men they would like to speak to following a burglary in Tadley on Wednesday, July 11.
Between 6.15pm and 8pm, a 87-year-old woman was sat in her dining room at an address in Southdown Road when she became aware of two men who had entered the room. When the woman confronted the two men, the elder of the two grabbed the other man’s arm and said he had seen him running from her house. The woman questioned this as both doors were locked and she noticed the older man was wearing gloves. The woman attempted to phone the police but the phone was knocked over by the younger man. Both men then left via the back door. The woman then discovered the men had got into her home by forcing a bedroom window. Nothing was taken. The older man is described as: - White
- Aged around 45
- 5ft 4ins to 5ft 5ins
- Stocky build
- Light brown hair
- Wearing a light coloured shirt, dark trousers and dark gloves
The second man, featured in the e-fit, is described as:
- White
- Aged 16 to 18
- 5ft 9ins to 5ft 10ins
- Proportionate build
- Short hair
- Wearing a bright medium blue shirt with either small stripes or checks, and dark coloured bottoms
Civilian investigator Tony Fell, of Basingstoke CID, said: “I am keen to hear from anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit, or the descriptions of either men. I would also like to hear from anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the Tadley area on Wednesday, July 11.” Anyone with any information should contact Mr Fell at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
