Officers are appealing for information after a teenage girl was indecently assaulted in Basingstoke on Thursday, July 19.
At around 4.50pm the 17-year-old victim was walking through the Guinea Copse area in Chineham when she was approached from behind by a man.
The man then indecently assaulted her.
The victim screamed and the offender ran away.
The man police want to speak to is described as:

- White
- Aged 35 to 40
- About 5ft 8ins
- Medium build but with a pertruding stomach
- Pale complexion
- Dark hair
- He was wearing a white t-shirt and dark knee length shorts
PC Emma Goldie said: “This was an unprovoked attack on a young woman in a public place.
“Fortunately the victim did not sustain any injuries during this incident but she has been left extremely shocked by what has happened to her.
“The incident occurred in the early evening and it likely that people would have been in the area at the time. I am appealing to anyone who thinks they may have seen the offender in the area or anyone who thinks they may have any information that could help our investigation, to get in touch with the police.”
