This Sunday (10 June) residents are being invited to join Basingstoke Diversity Forum for a day of fun in the park.
On Sunday 10 June between 11am and 4pm, visitors to Eastrop Park can create their own art masterpieces which will sum up the connections between different residents, communities and minorities in the borough. The event, which is being hosted by the Basingstoke Diversity Forum and supported by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, is aimed at bringing together people from all communities and ages across the borough. Guided by five artists, the free even offers the chance to try arts and crafts including everything from painting to performance. People of all ages are being encouraged to bring along a picnic and join in! The council’s Cabinet Member for community development Cllr Harry Robinson said: “It’s great to see such events being organised to celebrate the diverse talents and cultures in the borough. “This is a brilliant opportunity for residents to come together to work on something fun and to meet new people from a range of communities/backgrounds.” Chair of Basingstoke Diversity Forum Mrs Nawar Khadim said: “I am proud to be the Chair of Basingstoke Diversity Forum and ‘Art in the park’ is an event that will bring the local community together. It will provide a perfect opportunity for people from different backgrounds to learn more about the ethnic diversity that makes our borough so rich and colourful.” |
