Detectives in Basingstoke are appealing for information after a family home was burgled in Basingstoke on Monday, January 1.
The offenders gained access to the home of a professional couple and their five-month-old son on Worting Road, Basingstoke, between 3.30am and 6.30am.
It was later discovered that a diamond ring was missing from the property.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who saw a man and a woman in the area. The man may have had an injury to his head and at some point may have been naked or wearing just trousers or boxer shorts.
Detective Constable Tim Chappell said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area of Worting Road between 3am and 6.30am on New Year’s Day. This would include anyone who had been out celebrating New Years Eve, such as people on their way home from parties, or taxi drivers.
“I am also asking for help in tracing the missing diamond ring. If you have been approached and offered a ring for sale since New Year’s Day, please contact the police immediately.
A 20-year-old woman from Chichester and a 20-year-old man from Basingstoke have been arrested in connection with this incident and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
