Police appeal following burglary in Winklebury

Officers are appealing for information following a burglary in Winklebury, Basingstoke, between 6.30pm on Monday, January 8 and 7.15am on Tuesday, January 9.

The 44-year-old victim returned to his home on Hereford Way, Winklebury, Basingstoke, to find that his house had been entered and around £2,000 worth of property had been stolen, including a laptop computer.

PC Kerry Lawrence said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area on Monday evening or Tuesday morning to get in touch.  It is possible that someone saw someone acting suspiciously and they may have vital information to help our investigation.

“If you are leaving your house unattended at any time I would advise you to make every effort to make the property look occupied.  Try drawing the curtains at night and consider fitting timer switches to your lights.”

Anyone with any information regarding this incident should contact PC Lawrence at Basingstoke police station on 0845 045 45 45 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
