The sky over Basingstoke will be lit up in technicolour on 5 November, courtesy of the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane.
The annual Mayor’s firework display will this year be held on Thursday 5 November at the War Memorial Park. Disabled parking will be available at Crossborough Hill. Fire entertainers, a funfair and Heart FM roadshow will also be there on the night.
The gates will open at 6pm and the fireworks display is scheduled to begin at approximately 7.30pm.
The proceeds from the event will go towards the Mayor’s Charity Appeal 2009/10. Each Mayor chooses the charities to support during his or her year in office. This year’s charities are Hampshire & IOW Air Ambulance, Wessex Cancer Trust and Young People's information.
Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane Cllr Brian Gurden said: “Please come along and join me for what I am sure will be yet again an excellent family evening. It's a great way to enjoy a massive fireworks display whilst at the same time supporting my worthwhile local charities that support local people.”
Tickets will be on sale at the payments hall, in the Parklands Building at the council’s offices in London Road, Basingstoke, the Willis Museum and the Hampshire County Council Information Centre next to the library.
