This year’s Flower and Vegetable Show will take place at the Walled Garden on Sunday 20th July 1pm - 5pm. All entries must be staged between 8am and 10am on the day, judging takes place at 10am. The Show is open to the public between 1pm and 5pm with the Prize Presentation at 4pm.
Entry to the Show is £2 per adult (under 16s free). There will be a variety of stalls at the Show and a number of events taking place throughout the afternoon – these include the live broadcasting of ‘Gardener’s Question Time’ (as last year, the broadcasting team will be giving away various garden related prizes, including a lawnmower), MAD Academy will be putting on an interactive display for young children and the Basingstoke Area Youth Orchestra will be performing during the afternoon.
This year’s Show will have an environmental theme to it, with Officers from Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council being available to offer visitors advice on garden composting and recycling. The Borough’s Pledge Tree will also be there offering visitors the opportunity to make a pledge to reduce their carbon footprint.
