Police appeal for witnesses after robbery in Basingstoke

Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses after a teenager was robbed in Brighton Hill on Friday, May 23.

Just after 5pm a 14-year-old boy was pushed off his bike and assaulted by two men as he cycled in the park between One Stop and Gershwin Road.

The two men then stole the victim’s blue Barracuda mountain bike.
The teenager received minor injuries during the incident.
The first man is described as:
 
  • White
  • 16 to 18 years old
  • 6ft 6ins tall
  • Skinny build
  • Long face
  • Wearing a black and white tracksuit
 
The second man is described as:
  • Black
  • 16 to 18 years old
  • 5ft 8ins tall
  • Medium build
  • Large afro hair style
  • Wearing a black hooded top
 
PC Stephen Morrison, of Basingstoke police station, said: “This was an unprovoked attack that happened during the day when other people would have been around.
“We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it to contact police as soon as possible.”
