Witnesses sought to Brighton Hill bag snatch
Police in Basingstoke are appealing for witnesses to a theft in Brighton Hill on Monday, August 20.

At 10.45am, the 29-year-old victim was walking through the underpass at Brighton Hill roundabout, opposite Pizza Express.

Two boys on bikes cycled towards him and as they went past, they snatched the man’s carrier bag, which contained his wallet, cards, £150 cash and a New Deal ID card.

The first boy is described as:

  • White
  • Aged around 14
  • Slim build
  • Average height
  • Riding a green mountain bike

The second boy is described as:

  • White
  • Aged around 14
  • Slim build
  • Average height
  • Short blond hair
  • Riding a yellow bike with black writing

PC Andrew Panter, of Basingstoke police station, said: “I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this incident or recognises the descriptions of these two boys.”
